FAQ & Safety

Answers to common questions about how trading works and how we keep you safe.

Quick summary: This platform only works with Ticketmaster tickets that currently show a Transfer button. Once a trade is agreed, both users send their tickets to TicketSwapMeet, who verifies them and sends each one to its new owner. No money involved. A 48-hour listing minimum and 24-hour transfer deadline apply.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Does the Process Work?

Once you and another user agree to a trade, you both transfer your tickets to TicketSwapMeet's Ticketmaster account (the email is shown on the trade confirmation page). TicketSwapMeet verifies that both tickets match their listing descriptions, then sends each ticket to its new owner. This ensures neither party can lose their ticket without receiving one in return.

Why Can I Only Trade Ticketmaster Tickets?

Ticketmaster's digital transfer system is what makes safe swapping possible. TicketSwapMeet uses this to securely receive and forward tickets between users. Not all ticketing platforms support reliable digital transfers, so we only support Ticketmaster for now.

What Does 'Eligible for Transfer' Mean?

A ticket is eligible for transfer if you can see a blue Transfer button when you view it in the Ticketmaster app. Some tickets have a hold period after purchase, or are locked by the event organizer. If you don't see a Transfer button, the ticket can't be traded here — don't list it.

Why Is There a 48-Hour Minimum Before the Event?

TicketSwapMeet needs enough time for both steps of the process: once a trade is confirmed, you have 24 hours to send your ticket to TicketSwapMeet, and TicketSwapMeet needs another 24 hours to verify and forward it to its new owner. If the event is less than 48 hours away, there isn't enough time to safely complete the swap. Any listings or confirmed trades that hit this window are automatically cancelled, and you'll be notified.

What Happens if the Other Person Doesn't Send Their Ticket?

A 24-hour window starts the moment you both confirm the trade. If TicketSwapMeet doesn't receive both tickets within that window, the trade is automatically cancelled and both listings are restored (if the events are still more than 48 hours away). You'll always get a clear notification explaining what happened.

Is There Any Money Involved?

No. This is a ticket-for-ticket swap only. No money changes hands between users, and there are no fees on this platform. Both tickets must be Ticketmaster tickets.

What if I Receive the Wrong Ticket?

This shouldn't happen — TicketSwapMeet verifies ticket details before completing any swap. But if something goes wrong, use the Report button on the listing or trade page and email admin@ticketswapmeet.com immediately. Keep screenshots of the trade details as evidence.

Can I Trade Multiple Tickets at Once?

Each listing represents a single ticket, so you'd need to create multiple listings and propose separate trades. One trade = one ticket each.

What Happens if the Event Is Cancelled?

If an event is cancelled after a trade is completed, that's between you and Ticketmaster (the tickets are now in each user's account). Check Ticketmaster's refund policy. Cancelled events don't trigger any special handling here beyond what Ticketmaster provides.

Something Went Wrong?

If you notice suspicious activity or something seriously went wrong with a trade:

  • Use the Report button on the listing or trade page immediately.
  • Do not transfer your ticket if something feels off — cancel the trade first.
  • Keep screenshots of all messages and trade details as documentation.
  • Email us at admin@ticketswapmeet.com and we'll look into it.
